Engineering Program

Jubilee Academies is establishing a new engineering K-12 program of study to be rolled out at our middle schools in the Rio Grande Valley this coming school year (2021-2022). This initiative is led by Career and Technical Education (CTE) leadership, curriculum integration teams, campus administrators, and in collaboration with students, families and our university partners.

Future Plans

Jubilee Academies is committed to building project-based learning and STEM opportunities in grades 9-12 in our second phase of development. Our plans include offering STEM-related dual-credit opportunities for high school students through existing university partnerships. Our inclusion of internships and community service opportunities will enrich our students’ experiences and our support goals of building PK- post-secondary pathways into education and training.

Redesign and STEM Initiative

Jubilee Academies is establishing a new Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program of study to be rolled out at Jubilee Highland Hills, Jubilee Highland Park, and Jubilee San Antonio (2021-2022).

At the Elementary Level several campuses (JHH & JSA) will develop “Maker Spaces” and hire a STEM Instructor in order to introduce students to project based learning and a variety of STEM activities. This will be treated as an elective.

The Project Lead the Way Program rollout plan

Fall 2021

Elementary:  2nd-4th grade

Middle School:  8th Grade - Introduction to STEM (Engineering Program of Study.) 8th grade students will complete a PLTW module that aligns with the Engineering Program of Study, and a module that aligns with the Biomedical Science Program of Study. Students will be surveyed next year to determine interest to guide the decision on which program will be implemented at the high school starting in Fall of 2022.
