Superintendent Update - March 17, 2020
|March 16, 2020||En Español|
Dear Jubilee Families,
We continue to actively monitor developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) in conjunction with local and state public health officials, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
This week, a third public health emergency was issued in San Antonio where the Jubilee home office resides prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people. Due to the rapidly evolving nature of this situation and out of an abundance of caution, Jubilee Academies is joining other area districts in extending our closure of campus classrooms through Friday, April 3. This closure impacts ALL campuses including Austin, Brownsville, Harlingen, Kingsville and San Antonio. Parents should begin, if you have not already done so, to plan for long term closures of schools.
In the meantime, we will continue to offer curbside meals for our students at designated locations around the district. We are also working to implement remote instruction during this time. We will continue to update the district website about both meal service and at-home instruction. All updates and parent resources can be found on our website, social media channels, and through our email messaging system.
During this unprecedented time, we want you to know that our students’ safety and well-being is top priority. We understand that these developments have put a strain on your family. Jubilee continues to be committed to educating your children. We will get through this by working together. Thank you for your patience, support and understanding.
Dr. Kevin Phillips
